Want to give her an electrical gadget for the 4th year? Go ahead!

Filed under: Anniversary Year Gifts — editor @ 7:53 am

This may not be considered your typical ‘significant’ anniversary, but for a husband the 4th wedding anniversary is pure godsend. Want to know why? This is one year where he can actually get away with giving her an electrical gadget and not get banished to the dog house!

But, having said that, try not to go overboard with excitement and get something that you want and make it masquerade as her gift. Know what we mean? So, ditch that home theatre system, unless, she has specifically wished for it. Go for something that would combine aesthetics with utility.

Electrical appliances are not the only thing that you can give her. While this is the modern gift alternative, you can opt for the more traditional gift of books, flowers and fruits (maybe a great hamper that has all three?)

If you are still at a loss for ideas, then read more about the 4th Year Anniversary Gifts.

Make cotton romantic for her 2nd wedding anniversary

Filed under: Anniversary Year Gifts — editor @ 10:54 am

After the excitement and hype of the first year anniversary, the second wedding anniversary can seem a bit of an anti-climax. But, heck, why should it be? You have just completed two years together. Great!

Obviously, the thing uppermost in your mind is – gifts. What should you give your special woman on a special day? Never the easiest of tasks, for sure. But, if you give her gifts based on cotton, you’d be bang on target. Cotton, did you say? How unromantic is that! But think again. Gorgeous, soft bed linen, erotic cotton lingerie, or even matching cotton dressing gowns – there’s a lot you can do with cotton.

Leather goes well with your 3rd wedding anniversary

Filed under: Anniversary Year Gifts — editor @ 12:09 pm

Want to go traditional for your 3rd wedding anniversary? Then, look no further than a gift made of leather.

Now, now. Don’t get that gleam in your eye. Nothing exotic…or, er…naughty here. This is an anniversary gift for her, not you, remember! Nothing risqué or anything that will offend her. Anniversary gifts are all about romance, and the more the better!

So, what leather gifts is she likely to appreciate? What do women love anyway when it comes to leather? Handbags win well, ‘hands’ down! Followed closely by shoes, belts – but, yikes! – shoes for an anniversary gift aren’t exactly soul-uplifting (no pun intended!).

So, what is the one style accessory every woman has? A handbag! You can bet that every woman has one. But which woman wouldn’t appreciate a swanky new leather one? And, what’s more, something that she would never ever dream of indulging herself in? Now that would be a memorable gift.

.

Go for designer labels like Mulberry, Fendi, Prada, etc. But, if you feel out of your league in the world of handbags, there’s a plethora of leather accessories to choose from including: purses, leather photo keyrings, leather photo frames, iPod holders/ covers, travel wallets, or gloves. Luckily, leather is so versatile that it makes the entire shopping experience relatively stress-free.

Guess what? We have created a wonderful page dedicated to the 3rd wedding anniversary. It highlights the options for the traditional and modern gifts as well as the jewellery gift ideas for this year.

Your 1st wedding anniversary gift dilemma solved

Filed under: Anniversary Year Gifts — editor @ 10:01 am

The day is huge, the expectations are huge, and the pressure is huge! Yes, we are talking about a couple’s landmark 1st wedding anniversary. Later years’ anniversaries may come and go, but the first one is always so treasured, isn’t it?

And, guess who has to bear all the pressure and stress of getting a romantic, meaningful gift for the 1st wedding anniversary? Yes, you! She is likely expecting something really fabulous and you are hitting the panic button because beyond the customary rose, card and chocolates, you can’t think of anything more substantial.

Luckily for you, we have created a wonderful page dedicated to the first wedding anniversary alone. That offers you the option of not one but four gifts (if you count the flower as well). That’s because there is a very thoughtfully created anniversary year gift list that covers the gamut of traditional and modern gifts for each year, along with the distinctive flower and the traditional gemstone. So, for the first year it is paper (traditional), clock or watch (modern), pansy (flower) and freshwater pearl (gemstone).

Read it all here 1st Year Anniversary Gifts. To make things easier for you, we have also suggested gift ideas that correspond to the year’s gift themes. To give your ideas a kick start of sorts.

Welcome to Year Anniversary Gifts

Welcome to Year Anniversary Gifts!

This website aims to help you find the right anniversary gift for your anniversary year. We will be tackling each anniversary year in turn, giving you the facts, the traditions and customs and lots of relevant gift ideas from dozens and dozens of online retailers.

If you weren’t already aware, the traditions surrounding the anniversary year don’t just cover gifts. There are customs also for flowers and jewellery. Thankfully, we cover them all in our Year Anniversary Gifts Guides.

On the gifts side, things are complicated by the emergence of two different strands of tradition; the strict (and now old-fashioned) custom and the modern alternative. The modern alternative is a useful departure when the olde worlde traditions don’t throw up any useful gift ideas for your anniversary year.

Of course, strict traditionalists want to stick with original custom and that’s where we can really help. Because we can suggest gifts from loads of retailers, we can offer a lot more relevant (and attractive) choices of what anniversary gift to buy this year.

We’re only just getting started on this project, but things will be moving quickly. We’ll be tackling the first fifteen anniversary years over the next couple of months, so do be sure to check back soon. You will see how we can help you make your next wedding anniversary the anniversary year to remember!
